Transforming to linearized equations
Transforming to linearized equations
a) Find the appropriate transformations to linearize the relationship between Y and X in the following nonlinear
physical models:
y = 1/(a+bx)
y = μoe^(-a/bx)
*o is knot*
b.) The deflection (theta) in radian of a solid shaft is dependent on the diameter of the shaft D, according to the following engineering model:
Theta = (pi(L)tau/32G)*D^k
Where L is the length of the shaft, tau is the applied torque and G is the shear modulus of the shaft material. Find the appropriate transformation to linearize the data in order to estimate the value of the diameter exponent k.
