When there are 2 or more independent variables within a study the concern for a statistical interaction can surface. What we are trying to determine is if one independent factor effects or alters the performance of another factor: if there is an interaction between the two factors
When interaction occurs between two variable of interest,the connection among each of the interacting variables and a third dependent variable rely on the value of the interacting variable and this makes it harder to anticipate the outcomes of the value of the variable that changes especially if the variable it interacts with is difficult to measure. For example, if we look at medication effects on headaches, the input variables would be age and gender, whereas the dependent variable would be a headache itself
