Let the universal set be the set R of all real numbers.

Let A = {x ∈ R | -2 ≤ x ≤ 1} and B = {x ∈ R | -1 < x < 3}

(a) What is the interval notation for each of these sets?

(b) Find A ∪ B, writing the set in set-builder notation { } and in interval notation.

(c) Find A ∩ B, writing the set in set-builder notation { } and in interval notation.

(d) Find the complement of B, writing the set in set-builder notation { } and in interval notation.
